“Dung Beetle” is Best Alt-Energy Pun to Date, I Announce Plans to Become Professional Race-Car Driver

British engineers GENeco have come up with an engine mod that converts cars to run on methane gas.

Excrement flushed down the loos of just 70 homes is enough to drive it 10,000 miles – a year’s average motoring.

And with a top speed of 114mph, its makers claim it can go like s*** off a shovel.

Mohammed Saddiq of Bristol-based sustainable energy firm GENeco, which developed the prototype, says it will pave the way for a green motoring revolution.

Mohammed Saddiq is a pioneer, folks.  He’s going places other people are afraid to go.  Green energy is so 2008, which is why Mohammed is looking to the future: brown energy.  And I just want to say I’m here to offer my services as spokesperson for the brown revolution.  Put me behind the wheel of a car that runs on methane and I’ll show you a Beetle that is both fast and furious enough to beat damn near anything off the line.  Out of gas money? No problem, chili dogs are $1 at Arbetter after 6:00 pm.  1.21 Jigowatts, no sweat.  Plus, this effectively eliminates the need for that standard photo-finish race back home; just poop in the gas tank and go on with your date.

But in New York, a car won’t do me much good.  Call me when the get the Martin Jetpack running on farts and you’ve got yourself a sale.
